We provide a fun and peaceful retreat for your pets in our luxury, low-volume boarding facility in the scenic Adelaide Hills. Newly established in September 2026, CJ’s Pet Cabins offers boutique accommodation and personalised care for every guest. Each dog is treated to their own spacious, standalone cedar cabin, while our cattery features large enclosures designed for maximum comfort.
Our facility sits just outside the historic town of Nairne and conveniently between the growing population hubs of Mount Barker and Murray Bridge. Those coming to or from Adelaide will appreciate our proximity to the freeway, or guests can utilise our convenient pet transport option!

Our Care Philosophy
We operate at a much lower animal capacity, allowing for a high quality of care and attention to detail when it comes to each pet’s individual needs. We believe every pet deserves the same level of love, attention and care, which is why we don't offer tiered care options or charge extra for individual attention or group playtime (dogs only). But boy, oh boy, do they get a lot of play!
Some pets want to run and play, while others would rather have cuddles in their cabin or enjoy a quiet afternoon nap. We follow each pet’s lead and tailor their interaction, attention and enrichment to their individual personality and needs. Our aim is to make sure every guest feels comfortable, secure and cared for throughout their stay.
Our facility is particularly well suited to pets who may not be comfortable in other boarding environments due to the impacts of noise, stress, constant exposure to other animals, age or special needs. Each pet has their own private space where they can feel secure and comfortable, while still having opportunities for interaction and enrichment when they want it.
We also live on site, giving us greater flexibility to check on and attend to our guests throughout their stay, whenever they need us.
Set in a scenic and peaceful part of the Hills, our facility is intertwined with nature and operates entirely off grid, with power needs met via solar and battery storage. Dog waste and kitty litter is composted and filtered rainwater supplies the kennel, cattery and play areas.
About Us
We’re Cassie and Jordan, the people behind CJ’s Pet Cabins. We were inspired by a simple idea: boarding your pet should feel like leaving them with someone who genuinely cares about them.
Cassie previously worked in kennels while completing her Animal Studies qualification, where she saw first hand how different every pet can be and how important it is for them to feel safe, comfortable and understood while away from home. This experience helped shape our vision for a boarding experience that reflects how we would want our own pets to be treated.
Our dog, Tali, was a big part of the inspiration behind what we have created. We thought about what we would want for her if she were staying somewhere else and used this to help shape our cabins, outdoor spaces and approach to care. We have carried that same philosophy through to our cattery, creating an environment where cats can feel safe, comfortable and relaxed too.
We are a small, family run business and we live on site, allowing us to take a more personal approach to caring for every guest. What we have created is the result of combining our experience, our love of animals and a desire to create an experience that feels different from traditional boarding.
